About Me

I’m Malini, a licensed clinical psychologist in Washington, DC and Virginia. I am also PSYPACT certified through the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards.

My passion is helping people to control what they can, and confront what they can’t. I provide individual therapy to adults seeking to better understand themselves, their emotions, and the experiences that shape their lives. Within the context of a collaborative and compassionate therapeutic relationship, I work alongside clients as they develop deeper awareness of their feelings, patterns, and personal histories. Together, we explore both pain and possibility, with the goal of fostering meaningful change.

I have particular expertise in working with survivors of sexual assault, and I am deeply committed to trauma-informed care. My experience spans working with university students, young professionals, and adults from diverse backgrounds. I am especially attuned to the unique challenges faced by individuals navigating intersecting identities.

As an Indo-Caribbean psychologist and first-generation professional, I bring lived experience, cultural awareness, and humility to my work. I offer a nonjudgmental and individualized approach to therapy, drawing from evidence-based practices to support healing, growth, and emotional mastery. My work is grounded in a deep respect for each client’s story, and I aim to provide a space where all aspects of identity are welcomed and affirmed. Above all, I strive to create an environment where clients feel safe enough to be honest and engaged in their own healing.

The work I do often focuses on:

  • Building stronger relationships with self and others

  • Managing life transitions

  • Trauma recovery

  • Stress and anxiety management

  • Identity exploration, including LGBTQ+ support

  • Depression and low mood

  • Building greater self-understanding
